4:10 pm - Mummys day!!
|
One day of sun and I go out for 20 mins and BURN. What is wrong with me?? When did I become so fairskinned?? Messed up yo. Good thing I bought that after sun care thingy a few days before. I burned in the same place as last year too. Same stupid shirt. Ooh, maybe its cursed? Probably not, more likely that I'm the cursed one. Now its raining. I don't mind the rain so much because it makes everything so pretty and green (super rare in lethy aka desert of deadness), its just that I'm going to have a full month of rain in Scotland so I really rather have some sun before I go. But then I burn and...oh there's really no winning with me.
I baked pavlova for my mummy today, cause she likes it and it is mummys day. So she'll like that, or complain..but she enjoys doing that aswell so its win-win! For her anyway.
Ali and me had a nice day yesterday, she kidnapped me to the mall where I bought the hoodie I wanted from Gap and she bought the one thing she didn't need, a bathing suit. Well, thats alison for you, I shouldn't have been surprised. Then since it was so nice and lovely out (and I hadn't realized how crispy I was)we wanted to play outside with water balloons or something. Instead I made a lunch fit for a kindergardener and we regressed completely. Peanut butter sandwiches with Kool-aid and carrots while we played with cornstarch and water. Alison had never seen that in action so she was completely enthralled. After that we spent some time outside on the deck before being recruited into hard labour. Setting up the deck furniture and backyard swing..thingy. To make up for it we badgered my parents for a BBQ and got it! Not too buggy so we ate outside. Then we did some dance dancing (I now suck, I need to play more often to retain my new found ability to remain upright during gameplay) and some Karaoke which I conned alison into joining me on. We know very few lyrics as it turns out. Also giggling hysterically during the song doesn't help ones final score. Lesson learned. I'm surprised either of us have voices today, especially alison since she has a hacky cough thing going on. Poor dear. Good thing we skipped the whitney ballads, or I'd be deaded.
Ooooh rains getting worse..maybe it'll turn into a storm. I love those.

11:51 pm - HEROES! 1 more final! But mostly HEROES!
|
HEROES IS BACK!! and STILL AMAZING except for Nikki and MY MILO/ Peter being together after the bomb in the promo...wtf. Nikki's so annoying. Peter *squee* Linderman as Magneto? Who knew. Well, me but still strange. And I actually like Candice cause she's so evil and bitchy and she just enjoys being that way so damn much. Is anyone else wondering what happened to Hana? I mean she was there with radioactive Ted all gung ho and kick ass about getting rid of the trackers and then just....gone, missing from their misadventures. I guess her powers were kinda lame. I can IM you without a computer! I laught at your Wi Fi dependancy!!
-sigh- Yea my brain's fried. Too much studying and too little outside fun times. I've an eye twitch from all the stress. Oh well after wed its ALL over. I just need to study some more to get there. But first...BED TIMES! woo.

9:20 pm - An update? Must be experiencing soul crushing stress.
|
Stress....killing me....Life....flashing before eyes. Ooooh someone make psych disappear forever! At least then I'll only have animation and film (in reverse order) Oh, yes and my GIANT LACK OF A FUTURE *collapses under pressure* Anything I'm interested in doing I don't have the right degree/skills for and anything I do have the right degree for usually needs a Masters. *bawls* Its getting to the point where I can't even look up jobs without having a panic/anxiety attack. WOE is FREAKING me. Career centre didn't help, it only put into sharp focus how well and truly screwed I am. I basically wasted 5 years. Awesome.
Saw Black Snake Moan (oh god why would they cast Justin Timberlake..he is awful), Disturbia (really good, scary and not gory although him in the water did make me want to vomit quite a bit...the water with the things in it, not the pool...that was fine) and 300 (cgi blood was oddly mesmerizing...cgi head, well, that needed work).
My icons are all too....happy.

7:09 pm - Sound Track To My Life
|
|
Here's how it works: The song that plays next on your player is supposed to be the theme song for the question. It helps to find the song first then answer the question as you are less likely to cheat and skip the song. And make comments if you like after your song. 1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc) 2. Put it on shuffle 3. Press play 4. For every question, type the song that's playing 5. When you go to a new question, press the next button 6. Don't lie Opening Credits "You're all I have" - Snow Patrol Waking Up: "Magic Bus" - The Who First day at High School: "I'm Your Captain" - Grand Funk Railroad Falling in Love: "Move Along"- The All American Rejects Fight Song: "Wild One" - Um not sure actually...sounds kinda like Ashlee simpson? Breaking Up Song: "Spitting Games"- Snow Patrol Prom: "Lonely"- Akon ( well..thats....harsh) Life: "Ways and Means" - Snow Patrol Mental Breakdown: "The Good, The Bad, and The Queen"- Herculean Driving: "So long, Jimmy"- James Blunt Flashback: "Make This Go On Forever"- Snow Patrol (I swear it was random!!!) Getting Back Together: "Obstacle 2"- Interpol Wedding: "Young Lust"- Pink Floyd (Ya..thats going to go over well) Birth of Child: "You're My Best Friend" - Queen Final Battle: "Hotel California"- The Eagles Death Scene: "Knockin' on Heavens Door"- Avril Lavigne Funeral Song: "Rock your body"- Justin Timberlake (well thats just inappropriate! lol) End Credits: "I Love my B**** (Clean)"- Busta Rhymes feat Kelis

9:16 pm - Panic! At the school.
|
So I get a letter in the mail from the U of L, and of course, my first thoughts at seeing it are omg doom. Its going to be something like "Hey guess what? You're not actually graduating" or "Get out of our school" . So I open it and its good news! I'm on the Dean's Honors list. Woo. Although my mum was in the car with me when I read and now she won't shut up about it. She's somehow twisted it in her head that she's responsible for it. Riiight, but I don't think kidnapping me everytime I was planning to study counts. She says shes going to take a picture of my name on the list thingy. I said okay but only if she pretends she's someone else's mother.
So last weekend, cause alison was all stressed about her 4000 level and life in general, I threw her an UnBirthday Party. With Pink balloons and muffin cake and hats. My mum was all bitter and pissy about it (no clue why) so I made her wear a hat and then took pictures of it. Nothing beats pictures of a pissy person in a hat. Nothing.
Tomorrow I'm off to calgary, we need to drop off my uncles xmas gifts and stuff, since they didn't come down (buggers) and then ya, shop. I still have to write my paper for american cinema history, but its only 4 pages and I don't have that class until 5pm monday, so plenty of time to start. *points to self, seriously, deans lister*
Ok well I'm cold and I can't think of anything else remotely interesting that I've done recently. So I'm going to go play my new DS game Hotel Dusk. I get to be a disgraced NY detective. My absolute favourite kind.

School looks to be a good semester, only 3 classes, can't really complain. Movies yay. I watched Casablanca today. Its one of those movies where you think you know what its about because you know all the famous lines but you don't actually know what any of them mean. Well now I do. Go me. Plus I got to watch cartoons before it. Go Bugs. Speaking of cartoons I found a site where you can watch old captain planet episodes. *dies laughing* I loved that show. Oh and who knew that there was an A500 level? Certainly not Kara! I wasn't crazy! dammit.

10:22 pm - Happy Holllllidays!
|
I am DONE. Totally and completely finished my finals. Art wasn't as hard as I was expecting, or as I had studied for. I was a little upset, I felt a written test would have been more what I could handle. I don't know. It was easy, I should be happy...right? Tomorrow I'm baking all day. And sleeping. Sleeping and baking. Woo. Good times. Unless I blow up the kitchen.
Hmm I'm actually kind of sad art history's over. I find myself kind of obsessed with it lol. Combination of history and the media of the times. Oooh man, please don't let me "find my calling" with 3 course to complete on my major.
Montana was good. I kidnapped alison on the friday, 20 mins before leaving. Poor thing was hungover and bewildered. MWahaha. She had some fun...before getting a cold. Poor baby. Oh well we studied for art (more than I would have alone)and watched VH-1 and went to this all you can eat place (twice) and pigging out hugely (twice). She was obsessed with mashed potatos and gravy (I'm not sure there is any left in the state) and I found Red Velvet cake *dies*. I got some clothes, a travel book about Italy, some yummy smelling shower gel and a new DS game (touch detective) that I keep forgetting to play. Well, I was trying to forget so I would spend more time on art..but well thats taken care of now, so I am off to detect!! Tarrah!
OH and Leah is now LOCKED IN for Scotland / Italy *so excited* Alisons ....doubtful. But thats okay, as long as I have SOMEONE else I'm all gravy.

Today was not a good day. Today was, in fact, a bad day. My oven is evil and so my cookies didn't bake the way I wanted them to. My presentation went badly (not my fault but still a contribution), Snow Patrol tickets are sold out for Calgary in April (SOB), and Italian was verb stuff that I found confusing and generally distasteful. Plus I still have my paper to write for film. Which I hated again. Oh but it had Jonathon Rhys Myers in it...ya it didn't help. He was quite the little bastard in the movie. OH Grey's anatomy is on tonight. Well that cheers me. Slightly. Maybe I need to bake something else. I shouldn't really, I'm running out of places to put all the baked goods.

I've been on a cookie baking binge. I have stress? I bake. Natural order.
Watched vanity fair. Hated it. Totally didn't get that Gone with the wind was a version of it until someone said and I was all Ahh yes I see it, I see it so completely now. It makes more sense that I hated it, because I hated that one too.
Hmm so Alison *knows* me after all.

You are The Devil
Materiality. Material Force. Material temptation; sometimes obsession
The Devil is often a great card for business success; hard work and ambition.
Perhaps the most misunderstood of all the major arcana, the Devil is not really "Satan" at all, but Pan the half-goat nature god and/or Dionysius. These are gods of pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. This is a card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. On the flip side, however, the card can be a warning to someone who is too restrained, someone who never allows themselves to get passionate or messy or wild - or ambitious. This, too, is a form of enslavement. As a person, the Devil can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive. This is not to say a bad man, but certainly a powerful man who is hard to resist. The important thing is to remember that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it.
What Tarot Card are You? Take the Test to Find Out.

Good thing I flew home when I did. I would have freaked out if they made me shuffle all my luggage around. No lotions, lip gloss, beverages!! *flips out* that was all my damn carry on!! I can't live without the carry on!! What if thye lose my luggage? I just can't take that risk, it all must be within sight at all times.
In other news, today I: Discovered some strange chai green tea soy beverage concoction that I love Developed my film (2 rolls were from last summer..whoops) and finally I got my post card from Erynn...that she sent on July 24th...its Aug 10th. That is some shitty postal service. No wonder everyone prefers e-mail.

1:57 pm - Gonna party like its my birthday..oh wait it is. Carry on then.
|
|
So, I'm home. Got in around 3:30am last night to sleep around 4am, which since I was still on florida time was 6am for me. Yay for being up for 24hrs straight.
Hotel was awesome, animal kingdom and islands of adventure are my 2 favourite parks. I don't know wtf is wrong with all the ppl down there but someone needs to kick their asses...seriously. Everyone was so bitchy and languid I wanted to just throttle them until they showed signs of life. Also, did I miss an announcement that spanish became the official language in the states? Cause I did not get that memo. Never was I so happy to return to french.
It seemed this was one of those vacations where everything that could go wrong...did. Short of the plane crashing in a firey accident. Happily avoided that one. The night we go to calg I get a text message at 4am (2hrs after I got to sleep) from the airline saying our flight was delayed until 9:15am, we were supposed to arrive in denver at 9:45 so that screwed things over. They sent the same message to me again at 5:30am and again woke me up. *was miserable* We managed to get our connecting flight in denver (by running the whole damn way there) and we got into orlando around 6pm. Mostly because we had to wait an hour to get our car rental (huuuge line and 2 ppl working..it was beyond stupid considering most of those ppl had prebooked their cars so they KNEW they would have a bunch of ppl coming in) Alison and I sat on chairs and watched some guy flip out because he missed his shuttle and was bitching at a girl who had nothing to do with it only to turn the wrong way and miss his second shuttle. It was funny in a "only in america" way.
So we get to our hotel (awesome, I want to live there!) and unpack all our crap and were just about to figure out what we were doing when the fire alarm goes off. For our whole hotel!! It was loud and scary, but at first we didn't realize it was for the whole hotel, we just thought we had set off some alarm thingy. But no. I grabbed my purse and video camera and we went down the fire exit. We were on the 7th floor and those fire exits...not air conditioned. It was not fun. It didn't look like it was on fire but a fire truck came and we didn't really know what was going on..so we just left and went to walmart. When we came back everything was fine and we never heard anything else about it so I suppose it was ok.
Then we did Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, Universal, Typhoon Lagoon, MGM studios, shopping day, Islands of adventure and Blizzard Beach. It was a lot. Made worse by thefact that on the 4th day my feet got all swollen. It was horrible and it actually hasn't gone away. I hope I'm not about to die or something. I'm blaming the heat and the fact that I was on my feet from 8am till 11pm everyday.
So we get to splash mountain and we've fast passed it and now we're right at the front, the next ones to board and....they have to shut the ride down because theres a storm. We couldn't believe it. There was no way we were leaving though not after all that effort so we waited it out for about 30mins and finally they started it again and we were the very first log to go down the ride after it was shut down. Now, normally you don't get that wet on splash mountain. I've only every gotten droplets and a little misted on the face and shirt. So it was a HUGE surprise when we did the big splash and this mountain of water comes over us. Alison was drenched completely I was protected by her getting it first and also I was holding a back pack that took most of my share of the water, but I still got quite soggy. Alison wasn't happy because she had on jean shorts which..don't dry. Mine were some moisture whisking material thingy and they dried up fairly quickly.
Animal Kingdom, we get near the from of Kali river rapids and theres an announcement that the ride is having technical difficulties and has been shut down. So we have to go do something else. Not fun. It eventually opened later (we fast passed that puppy, because they said they'd honor those all day, so we could just go whenever it reopened). Expedition Everest was fun, we got there early enough that the wait was less than 10 mins. I liked it alison loved it but she got this massive bruise on her knee where it kept bumping. They need to make comfyer seats!
EPCOT had no major mishaps, that I remember.
Universal is the crappiest park. The only decent ride is the mummy. Which we did twice in a row because the wait time was only 5 mins (yay for earlyness) their whole express pass ($30!!) is ridiculous. Men in Black was ok. Jimmy neutron was awful! We waited in line for 40mins only to fell completely ill because of our angle. Ugh. So mad I wasted time on that ride. We didn't last long in that park at all.
Typhoon was a let down, because the lazy river that we had been looking forward to was half closed so yuo couldn't float around and around yuo could go about a quarter and then had to get off walk back and float some more. So annoying. Plus the shark reef thing had a long wait so I didn't do it this time. Super disapointing.
MGM was good. Alison loved aerosmith! I was like SEE I told you! so smug. Then we did tower of terror twice because my mum looves it. I didn't think that the rides were that good, it didn't drop us long enough either time. Alison was freaked out so I guess it worked for her. We kind of just filmed around that park and then did a few rides that we liked (millionaire and the great movie ride) until we realized that there wasn't a whole lot to do in that park, so we took a bus to downtown disney and just shopped around there after a lunch in MGM. We got back early enough to get super good seats for fantasmic. Alison wasn't so happy that we were going to be sitting for 2hrs doing nothing to wait for a show, but she said it was worth it after seeing it. So cool. Then we ran and did tower again because my mums obsessed.
This day was supposed to be a Blizzard Beach day but mum didn't want to because it was too soon after typhoon, although the plan was to go shop for a bit in the morning and then around 3pm go to the beach but we ended up shopping for too long so no blizzard for me *sad face* Although I spent tons of money and got purses and bags and sun glasses and clothes so I was a happy girl.
Islands was the park I had arranged for us to hit last because it has the most thrill rides and my plan was to work alison up to the biggies. And it worked to perfection. I got her on the Hulk (first thing too, because it was a 5 min wait and I didn't think I'd ever see that again! Plus if she gets it over with first it gives her less time to chicken out) so I got her and my mum on it. Alison loved it my mum said it was ok it didn't make her feel sick but she wouldn't do it again. Then alison and I went to spiderman, which she remembered nothing of last time, so it was like a whole new ride for her lol. My mum passed because the combo of erratic motion and 3D makes her ill. After that mum was all ok so fear fall now? the waits really short. So we did it, even alison who had said there was no way. It wasn't as bad as she had worked herself into believing. She liked it. I hate the part before they shoot you up and then the part where the ride stops but you don't. After that I'm good. Then we just made our way around the park counter clockwise. We did all the water rides in a row, alison got soaked again (and again she had jean shorts even though I had told her this was the park you get soaked) The only thing we had problems with was the new Dr. Seuss ride. We waited 30mins only for it to be shut down due to a thunderstorm when we were almost at the front. This time we didn't care to wait because we were all thirsty. After getting our drinks (which took a lot of effort for some idiot guy working the booth who didn't seem quite awake) we were going to go back around and go to some shops when I saw that the rides were up and running again. So we went back but the wait was now 60mins and we thought...NO. We passed duelling dragons and the wait was 15 so i was like wanna do it alison? and she was all okay. Which was unexpected, so before she could change her mind I dragged her onto it and we did fire, which is 10X better than Ice, I actually loved it. Then we went on Poseidon's fury which wasn't as spectacular as I remember. There was more ppl and the guy who plays the guide was annoying and I already knew what happened so it wasn't so fun. Then we shopped and ate and went back to do seuss which no one liked and didn't think it was worth the wait. It was only like 5 by that time and we had nothing else to do and were all tired so we figured we'd call my dad to come pick us up early, but instead of coming home after his baseball game (Tampa Devil Rays Vs. Boston Red Sox ..and the SOX lost!! I couldn't believe it, alison was devastated) he went out for dinner and took his time and then came to the park. He got there around 8:30pm so we had quite a wait.
The our last full day was Blizzard beach, which my mum loved! We did the slider racer thingys and some other foam ride thing and the cozy creek floaty ride and then we took the chair lift up and did a raft ride which was quite fun as well. We were about 4hrs there, I could have stayed longer but mum held me to 4hrs and we went home showered, napped and went shopping. Where we sort of bought everything in sight. Oh before that we went to steak and shake one last time I got the banana chocolate side by side milkshake with hot fudge on top (sooo damn good) and alison got the turtles milkshake vanilla milkshake with caramel and hot fudge on top and then whipped cream and nuts and a cherry. Looked amazing. After shopping that night we went and found the restaurant we hit accidentally on our way back from Ft. Lauderdale the last time. We found it and alison and I were so greedy we got a bowl of pasta each (with meatballs of course) and it was WAY too much. One bowl could have been split btw the 3 of us. Sooo good though.
Then we left and it was sad and we wanted to stay there forever! Oh well, onto the next trip...ITALY 2007! lol
Martin came today to golf, Leah was supposed to come with but she didn't, lil' Brat!! Pfft, no souvenir's for her! lol
Caught up on my BB watching (yay janelle is safe!) Now I need to finish my unpacking and putting stuff away and then nap! Before I die!

6:04 am - We're all going on a, summer holiday...
|
I am up at this ungodly hour of 6am because I was stupidly awoken at 5:19am. People are not allowed in my bathroom when I am sleeping because I will know and it will wake. me. up. *hugely pissed* I can't get back to sleep now because I'm too excited. I leave in 8hrs!!!
I've made all sorts of schedules and plans that will be followed to the letter. *100% serious* I have it scheduled hourly, and there will be no deviations from my list. Unless they wish for death. And I do not suggest they take that path because it leads to much pain; pain that I will schedule.
So I just found out that all my film is expired. Bad news: I have no film. Good news: I have less shit to carry in my bag. Yay for 24hr walmarts in convenient places.
Fast and the Furious 3 starts at the mill today. It'll probably be gone by the time I get back. This saddens me. I don't want it to think I don't love it as much as I did the other 2. It could develop a complex!
Went on a downloading music binge. Enjoyed it. Hope it doesn't screw up my computer. Leaving, so not too worried.
I'm tired. Its too early. I am not scheduled to be up for 3 hours! I have thrown off my schedule already. *disappointed* Although I did take it out on Alison, whom I texted at 5:30am and woke up. She was as happy as I was, but somehow found a way to get back to sleep. Bitch.
I plan to annoy many people on the plane. Here's how: First I plan to ingest a lot of sugar, sugar cut with red food coloring (it makes me super hyper...I think its some kind of allergy). Second, I plan to drink one of those 800mL of caffeine energy drinks that will have me BUZZING. Third I plan to play the most annoying (and yet so, so amusing) game known to man. You name a song and the artist and the other person has to take one of the words used and name some other song, and then so on. I plan to play this loudly and with much giggling. I dare them to seat me next to children, I Dare Them.
Orlando, here I come!!

10:21 pm - Big Brother in 4 days!!
|
Well, today I was productive. Sort of. I realized I was lacking in the "shirts I can wear in disney without becoming overheated" department. So, I went shopping. Which I hate, but do because its necessary. So the result of 5hrs of hard labor was 3 shirts. I love one and will wear the other two. I have 3 others already so now I just need 4 more and I have a shirt for every day! Which is optimal, I mean there is a washer and dryer in our "complex" but if I wear the same shirt it will confuse the pictures!! At least, thats my theory.
2 days till school starts. Alison is showing signs of an attempt to drop the class. I will have none of it. Even if I have to drag her there, she's going. On tuesday, I'm doing just that. I'm taking the bus to school and then walking to her house and then back to school with her. I was thinking about stopping at DQ for one of them monster cookie blizzards (OMFG so awesomely delicious, ice cream CRACK!) so I'd have something to make class less sucky, but I realized it would just melt in the heat. Although according to the latest weather data, its not going to be so bad. Of course that data may change before tues, and I'll be better off just looking out the bloody window. I'll just mark it as a perhaps.
OH! OOoooH! I almost forgot to bitch about this here! So I was looking at the Yahoo! Music (US version) site and its new video that was going to be shown the next day was Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars, only it was the second version...GREYS ANATOMY Version so, I naturally went all sorts of crazy. 'Cause I *heart* Snow Patrol and I super *heart* grey's so it was like combining the two awesome, which can only result in new previously unattainable levels of awesome. Anyway next day I get up go to the computer like a kid on christmas only to find that the video won't work because its NOT AVAILABLE IN MY COUNTRY!!! I mean WTF, I'm in CANADA for crapsakes not like an ethiopian village or something. I know why and stuff (You don't take as many media communications and such classes as I have and not know) but c'mon on CRTC thats just mean. And I'll hate you forever. *sobs* I hate this whole monitor and control the internet shit. Ugh I'm so furious. I can't think about this anymore its getting me all riled before bed. Happy thoughts candice...happy....
Oh I've discovered Nutella. It. Is. Awesome. Its like the insides of belgian chocolates. *drools* I'm still a little iffy on using it on bread though. That seems wrong.
I'm out of books. Well, theres one left, but that was designated for the plane ride. However, I'm desperate and its there and all crisp and unread. I may cave to temptation. I am weak. Actually, today I went to the U of L to get my library card updated and to buy my text but (duh) it was all closed. Wasted trip to the west side.
Tomorrows my last day of freedom, unfortunately its a holiday so everyones home and invading my space. That plus the heat and minus any reading material makes me think I am going to be a very irritable girl tomorrow.
